Emigrating

My work emigrating  is a (mixed technique) with the intervention of fragments of cloth embroidered with golden threads that represent emigrants around the world, the roots, the more elongated your roots are, the farther your branches can reach.

This visual course is divided into four sensations which are sequential to each other, the first being divided into two parts here and there, the second the constant movement and learning of a new language, the third the body as territory and mutant identity, and the fourth adapting and merging into the new home.

These sensations arise from the process of displacement, both physical and mental, from the place of origin. The deepening of such knowledge is both theoretical and empirical.

Leaving a life behind and starting over, being a nomad in search of the promised land, having to preserve infinite memories and hugs, moments, and memories of the depths of being motivate us to continue in distant lands. Establishing new connections with strangers may be a fortunate experience when we are touched by sharing the same feeling of moving forward, or an unfortunate one when we are left behind with life lessons.

Our roots remind us of where we are from. We carry them with us regardless of place and time. Our customs and sensations do not change even when we are thousands of kilometers from our homeland and our beloved home. We keep them intact and listen to them from time to time regardless of the circumstances. When emigrating, some places appear distant enough for a long time until we adapt to a new path, carrying within us "the living" in another country.
